Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Excellence

In addition to his rigorous training in general and plastic surgery, Dr. Hazboun was selected to train for a year at one of a handful of aesthetic surgery subspecialty programs endorsed by The American Aesthetic Society specializing in cosmetic procedures. Dr. Hazboun completed his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, a leading academic medical institution recognized for its excellence.

Following this, he furthered his expertise by completing an aesthetic surgery fellowship at The Plastic Surgery Center in Sacramento, California, where he honed his skills in a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. He is board-certified in General Surgery and is board-eligible in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

A Foundation Built on Rigorous Training

Dr. Hazboun’s path to plastic surgery was shaped by years of broad surgical experience. He completed his general surgery training across three prestigious programs—the University of Arizona, Loma Linda University, and Southern Illinois University—forming a firm foundation in complex surgical decision-making before specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Earlier in his training, Dr. Hazboun served as a Research Fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he worked within the Orthopedic and Hand Surgery department. That defining experience sparked his interest in the intersection of function and form that defines reconstructive surgery.

His research contributions span both reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery, with publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open and The Journal of Orthoplastic Surgery, among others.

Dr. Hazboun has presented his research at national and international meetings, including The Aesthetic Meeting and the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, and was honored with the Jaime A. Garza Research Award from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2023.

Comprehensive Aesthetic & Reconstructive Procedures

Bringing World-Class Training to Maine

Dr. Hazboun was drawn to Maine Plastic Surgery by the opportunity to work alongside an exceptional, close-knit team and to serve the warm and welcoming people of Maine—and, of course, by the undeniable beauty of the region. Outside of the operating room, Dr. Hazboun is an avid hiker who loves exploring new cities and staying close to the water.

He is an enthusiastic traveler with a passion for trying new cuisines from around the world. He enjoys drawing and reading (particularly ancient history), and is looking forward to cheering on his favorite teams during the upcoming World Cup. When he’s not catching a match, you’re likely to find him deep into a TV series.
