The lips are among the most attractive, eye-catching facial features, but unfortunately, many people are unsatisfied with the shape, color, and overall appearance of their lips. If you’re interested in a long-lasting treatment that can greatly enhance the tone and beauty of your lips, lip blushing could be an ideal solution.

What Is Lip Blushing?

Lip blushing is a cosmetic treatment in which the lips are applied with semi-permanent makeup/tattooing to enhance their color and fullness.

How Does Lip Blushing Work?

During lip blushing treatment, the lips are carefully implanted with pigment using either a sterile needle or a special lip blushing device. As the pigment is added to the lips, it enhances their tone, shape, and contours to make them look fuller while maintaining their natural appearance.

Benefits of Lip Blushing

For individuals who aren’t satisfied with the appearance of their lips, lip blushing can offer some or all of the following benefits:

  • Enhanced lip coloring
  • More even lip tone
  • Improved lip contours and shape
  • Fuller, more youthful-looking lips
  • Improved facial harmony
  • Increased self-confidence
  • Long-lasting results
  • Minimally invasive procedure
  • Minimal recovery downtime
  • Eliminates the need for temporary lip makeup

What Should I Expect During the Procedure?

Before you undergo lip blushing treatment, the first step will be to have a consultation with our lip blushing specialist. They’ll discuss the treatment with you, examine your lips, and ask you about your specific aesthetic goals. They will then work with you to create a treatment plan and advise you on any necessary preparation for the procedure.

Your lip blushing treatment will be an outpatient procedure taking place right at our clinic. To begin, a topical anesthetic will be applied to your lips to minimize discomfort. Your provider will then use a very fine needle or lip blushing handpiece to carefully tattoo pigment onto your lips. Overall, the procedure will likely take around two to three hours to complete, and you can return home immediately after it’s finished.

How Long Is the Recovery Time?

After your lip blushing treatment, you may experience some swelling, bruising, and redness, but these symptoms should gradually disappear on their own. Your provider will give you thorough aftercare instructions to ensure that you heal properly, but you should be able to resume your normal routine right away. However, it’s best to avoid strenuous exercise, swimming, and anything that makes you sweat for at least one week.

Am I a Candidate for Lip Blushing?

Adults who would like to enhance the color and definition of their lips could be good candidates for lip blushing.

Ideal candidates for the treatment should:

  • Be in generally good health
  • Have the desire for enhanced lip color and fullness
  • Have reasonable expectations for the treatment
  • Not be currently pregnant or nursing
  • Not be currently taking any blood-thinning medications

How Long Will It Take To See Results From Lip Blushing?

Typically, patients start to see the effects of lip blushing treatment after around seven to ten days, but it can take up to a month for the new pigment to fully settle and reveal the final results. On average, the effects of lip blushing last for approximately one to three years.
